We will always strive to be the best version of ourselves, designing with circularity in mind and reducing our negative environmental impact where possible. We will always showcase traditional artisanal production and celebrate the skills of our craftspeople. As a small business we promise to continually expand and develop our sustainability intentions towards a better, kinder world - creating beautiful cashmere that doesn’t cost the earth. Bringing you luxury cashmere with a conscience.
Our yarn spinner has always placed great importance and emphasis on being ethical and socially responsible, with a true commitment to environmental protection, animal welfare and sustainability.
They have full understanding of responsible cashmere production from farming to the final product.
This ensures that each of our garments will be kind to your skin and to nature, this includes our yarns and our buttons, we additionally offer a completely dye-free Home Wear collection.
The non-toxic dyes we use are approved and certified to an Oeko-Tex 100 Standard, reducing negative chemical impact during the production process, and certifying that they are safe to wear.
Our yarn supplier and garment factory both have ISO14001 certification. This is a voluntary and internationally agreed and recognised standard for Environmental Management systems. Which improves resource efficiency, reduces waste and improves overall environmental impact.
From our biodegradable corn bags to our paper parcel tape we are using more ecological alternatives to plastic to ensure Kopila doesn’t upset the harmony of nature.
Our handmade lokta tissue paper supports the tradition of handmade paper in Nepal creating important job opportunities in the local communities. The paper is made from the bark of the lokta tree which is a sustainable resource.
All paper labelling used by Kopila is FSC certified. This guarantees that the raw material has been sourced in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
All our garment labels are organic cotton and GOTS certified. This standard sets requirements for both ecological and labour conditions. The cotton has been grown following organic principles that help maintain soil health without the use of toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilisers.
These are all made from natural renewable materials that are recyclable or compostable.

We understand the importance of a circular economy which is why 99% of our product is compostable. Our luxury cashmere garments are made from natural, renewable materials, that create minimum environmental impact and reduce waste.
We only source raw materials from sustainable sources unless necessary for the longevity or functionality of the garment. meaning from our yarn to our corozo buttons, our labelling and our packaging, all materials are recyclable or compostable.
We design our luxury garments with longevity in mind, our cashmere is the finest quality royal cashmere and we create contemporary and lightweight garments that transcend the seasons for you to love and re-wear again and again.
We have designed our range with care - our key neutrals we pledge to keep using so that you can add to your wardrobe season on season knowing they will all go together.
We believe in paying the true cost for a garment and that we need to buy less and buy well. We need to understand, as consumers, the true cost of a garment made with conscience. Rather than offering seasonal markdowns for excess stock we will only make small batches and will archive any stock remaining each season - always available to buy at full price through the archive section on our website. We believe our garments transcend the seasons and will look contemporary for years to come so will only offer your garment at its true cost.
